Point Oldham
Parent Forum
POINT is a charity based in Oldham who support children and young people with additional needs and disabilities and their families. They were established as a voluntary led organisation in 2010 and gained charitable status in 2015. Since 2010 our membership has grown from 45 to over 1,400 families. Many of their families come to us at crisis point and we offer the following services:
- Information, advice and support services;
- Established network providing peer support through Oldham’s Parent Carer Forum and delivering statutory services commissioned by Oldham Council, Department for Education and Council for Disabled Children.
- Parent/carer workshops;
- Training opportunities;
- Support to empower children, young people and parents/carers;
- The opportunity for young people, parents and carers to have their voices heard to shape services within the borough to improve life chances and outcomes;
Their vision is an inclusive community and society without compromise where all children/young people with additional needs and/or disabilities are treated equally and fairly
